Role responsibilities
Provide and maintain the overall operational quality, service delivery and security compliance within Platform Operations for the Tivoli services within the Enterprise Management infrastructure
Regularly liaise with other geographic regions, technology development and other IS&C teams to ensure design and operational consistency.
Provide operational support for Tivoli services on a 24x7 rota/on-call basis.
Provide support for the delivery to production of infrastructure projects, operational projects and application development projects, ensuring suitable ongoing support and maintenance.
Proactively identify areas where more effective Enterprise Management principles and processes can be adopted.
Provide technical input to the Enterprise Management engineering roadmaps, working in partnership with the Infrastructure Engineering and Architecture function.
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus v7.3
Netcool ObjectServer creation, configuration and adminstration
Administer Tables, users, groups, conversions, filter and views
Understanding of failover and High-Availability concepts
Understanding of 3-Tier architecture IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus WebGUI v7.3
WebGUI installation, Configuration and Administration
Able to create users, groups, filter, views, pages, roles, page views and portlet
Configuration of WebGUI for third party authentication (e.g. LDAP) IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Probe and Gateways
Probe and gateway installation, configuration and administration
Good understanding of Probe Rules and able to write new rules
Probe failover configuration and Understanding
Gateway map and property file configuration IBM Tivoli Netcool/Impact V5.1, v4.0, v3.1 Administration and Implementation
Understand how Impact processes events from the IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus ObjectServer
Administer users, groups, and roles as they affect how IBM Tivoli Netcool/Impact functions
Build Impact policies using proper syntax and utilizing supplied action functions
Interpret and implement Impact error handling and high-availability solutions IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2.3/6.2.2
Detailed understating of Core ITM components and its communication flow
Install and upgrade IBM Tivoli Monitoring products
Install and upgrade IBM Tivoli Monitoring Fixes/Patches
Understanding of failover and High-Availability concepts preferable hot standby feature
Understanding the concept of agent failover
Understand the event integration interface between ITM and Netcool Omnibus
Knowledge of creating users, Groups, Logical Workspaces, MSL etc
Sound knowledge of using itmcmd and tacmd commands
Creating situations for OS and UA monitoring
Universal Agent configuration
Integration of TEPS with LDAP
Historical data collection concepts
FWGW configuration and design
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
